The Need

For 20 years, Lackey Clinic has benefitted our community by providing a range of high quality medical and health care services to thousands of our patients—the lower income, uninsured and underserved residents in Greater Williamsburg, York County, Poquoson and on the Peninsula.

Our patients come from all walks of life. They are the working poor, those who may have lost jobs as a result of a weakening economy, victims of personal crises or tragedies, and some whose financial resources have just run dry. What do they all have in common? They are ill and in need of medical care.

Because of the generosity of our donors, Lackey Clinic has been able to provide this skilled medical, dental and other healthcare services to our patients, and to care for each one of them in a spirit of compassion, dignity and respect.

The Need for Support Is Greater Than Ever

With the continued rise in healthcare costs and the lack of real income growth for lower and middle-income workers, more people than ever may lack the financial resources to afford insurance or to pay for even basic medical expenses. For many in our community, Lackey Clinic literally can be a lifesaver—a place to find care and restore dignity and hope.

Plus, it’s a fact that more than 300,000 low income, uninsured Virginians currently are not covered for any support or subsidy under the Affordable Care Act. And that figure includes almost every person who comes to our door for help.

Please consider making a donation now. Our mission cannot be fulfilled without your generous contributions. And you won’t find a better, more efficient and more impactful way to invest your charitable gift because very dollar you donate to Lackey Clinic will provide our patients more than $6.50 worth of quality care given in a spirit of compassion, dignity and respect.
